FAQ and blog
Business Research Plus, this MBS library service blog, includes posts that highlight the ongoing improvements to the FAQ service ( http://go.mbs.ac.uk/bizlib247 ).
The FAQ service provides brief answers to common questions. Business Research Plus provides the opportunity to provide more context and to highlight FAQ answers of particular relevance to recent research questions.

Dear Sir
I have some queries.
1 where can I find data of board composition (outside directors)?
2 how to find shares owned and exerciseable options held by CEO?
3 the number of at least 5% stockholder?
4 number of 5% stockholders on board of directors
5 information of institution ownership?
6 unsuccessful tender offer
7 I randomly downloaded data containing CUSIP code from WRDS, and noted that the code varies from 6 to 9 digits, why this happens? is it necessary to transform them to have the same length?
Kind Regards
Renrong
Dear Renrong
This comment is quite specific to your research data requirements and that is why we dealt with your identical email on these issues rather than replying to this comment. On reflection however, it seems appropriate to acknowledge your feedback.
You have highlighted some areas (e.g. executive compensation, board membership, ownership and CUSIPs) where the information available through Manchester Business Answers 24/7 could be improved. We are working towards this.
It seems that you did not find it easy to find the Business Research Plus post about CUSIPs despite this being one of the most popular that we have written. http://bizlib247.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/cusip-6-digit-cusip-to-9-digit-cusip-permno-gvkey/
It now seems clear that comments on this blog page are only an appropriate way of discussing a specific FAQ answer, or the lack of an answer on a specific topic. I’ve therefore just updated a couple of “help” answers in Manchester Business Answers 24/7 (FAQ).
Kind regards,
Mark Greenwood

We have removed most of the videos from our FAQ (Manchester Business Answers 24/7) as it has proved difficult to keep these up to date with ongoing changes to websites and provide them in a format that works for most PC/laptop/tablet and browser combinations.
We will continue to link to external videos where these seem useful and reliable.
Many thanks to Mary, who administers the FAQ and this blog, for her hard work in tidying up the relevant broken links.
