AIM listings and delistings

“How do I find the companies that delisted from the AIM during 2006-2009?” sounds like a simple query.  (Just the sort of thing for Datastream.)

The problem is that Datastream has the London Market and no datatype to separate the Main and AIM.

So one possible answer is to use the historical FTSE AIM lists: LFTSEAIM0106 (Jan 06), LFTSEAIM0107 … with static requests for NAME, ESTAT, DSCD, BDATE, TIME, … and find equties where TIME (the last date with a valid price) is in 2006-2009.

Alternatively, you could compare the monthly historical constituent lists, either from Datastream or the LSE historical company lists.

Obviously, this is a rather complicated answer to a simple query so please leave a comment if you know something better.
