Financial Times (FT) online access

The Library does not have a subscription to the Financial Times online (FT.com).

However, FT articles are available from a number of business databases: Factiva (1981 to present), ABI Inform (1996 to present) and the Financial Times Historical Archive (1888 – 2006).

How to get the FT Special report “The Business of Luxury” (June 2009).

Unfortunately, neither Faciva not ABI Inform (Proquest) allow you to search for FT special reports by name. Using a general search for just “luxury” on the FT and June 2009 it is possible to identify the date as June 15th 2009.

Factiva – search for publication “Financial Times”, Date 01/06/2009 to 01/07/2009, and (free text) “business of luxury” returns 10 articles. The Factiva headline includes “FT Report Business of Luxury”.

ABI Inform – search for publication “Finanical Times”, Date 06/15/2009 and “luxury” (in citation and document text) gives 14 articles. The articles from the report do have “FT Report – Business of Luxury” in the Section part of the Indexing (document details) but there seems no way to search this.

In this case, it is slightly easier using Factiva.
