Bloomberg – changing default language

Bloomberg in Japanese (click to expand)

Bloomberg allows users to set their default language.

The command to do this is LANG. English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian,  Chinese (traditional), Chinese (simplified), Korean, and Russian are supported.

If you want to try this out, please type LANG and change your language in any screen except number 1 (so 2,3 or 4). You will be able to see the change straight away.

If you set the language in screen 1 you need to logoff and then login again for the change to take effect, and the change includes the login screen itself!

So if you find that the Bloomberg login is in a language you do not understand you need to type LANG, choose the language you want, press CONN/DEFAULT to logout and then login again.
