Where do I find business and industry ratios?

How do I compare a company to its industry?

One difference seems to be that some resources (Yahoo! Finance, Factiva) take industry to mean US-quoted companies, others (Thomson Reuters) take a global view. You really need to check the companies that are being classified as an Industry.

Need to investigate whether ratios are available for industry/sector indices on Thomson One Banker and Datastream.
